Myth: "RE/MAX IS ONLY FOR TOP PRODUCERS"

TRUTH: While it's true that RE/MAX is the home of top producing agents, and that RE/MAX has a higher percentage of agents earning in the top 5% nationally than any other company, it would be inaccurate to say that RE/MAX is only for top producers. Almost ½ of all agents joining RE/MAX nowadays are brand new agents with the desire to start their real estate career as a business instead of a job. In fact, because of our low fees and high commission philosophy, RE/MAX Alpine Realty is the perfect fit for the new agent with goals of success. They desire to be in control over their business while being supported and trained by the most successful agents in the business. It has always been said: “Success breeds success” and at RE/MAX Alpine Realty, you will experience the power of this simple truth.


Myth: "RE/MAX ONLY WANTS EXPERIENCED SEASONED AGENTS"

TRUTH: What we are looking for are professional people with an entrepreneurial spirit, excited about their careers and possess a passion for Canmore and the surrounding area. What it takes to succeed in the real estate business is an understanding of a service oriented business. Many are surprised to learn that most of the more successful real estate agents in the Bow Valley come not from a sales background, but from the hospitality industry. Many agents today, were our waiters, waitresses and hotel staff of yesterday. RE/MAX Alpine Realty is not for the hobbyist, part timer or those “testing the waters.” However, for the new or experienced agent joining RE/MAX Alpine Realty who is committed to this industry and is willing to put in the effort, success will undeniably follow..

Myth: "RE/MAX DOESN'T HAVE THE MARKET SHARE OF SOME OTHER COMPANIES"

TRUTH: Though other companies may have more agents, RE/MAX Alpine Realty maintains the largest market share, with the most homes listed and sold on a consistent basis. RE/MAX offices and agents on average sell more homes than any other company.

Myth: "RE/MAX WILL COST ME LISTINGS AND BUYERS"

TRUTH: Actually, just the opposite will be the case. When agents join RE/MAX they see their business increase substantially. There are many reasons for this , (Go to Why Agents Change and click on Agent Production) one of which is that Canmore and the Bow Valley attract a large international clientele. While these clients are in a foreign country, they tend to work with that which they are familiar. Because RE/MAX is the most prominent real estate company around the world, with offices now in 52 countries, and with the RE/MAX balloon being one of the worlds 50 most recognized logos, the RE/MAX Alpine agent benefits directly by the increase in international buyers.

Myth: "RE/MAX IS EXPENSIVE TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH"

TRUTH: That's what our competition would like you to believe, but the simple truth is just the opposite.

's core philosophy and where our very name comes from, 'Real Estate Maximums', allows agents to retain the maximum commission possible while offering the lowest fees available. For those currently doing moderate business at other offices, our fees tend to be similar. However, as an agent’s business increases, (which is a happy side effect of being a RE/MAX agent) the RE/MAX agent makes many $1000’s more for the same number of transactions than at their current split office fee structure.

Myth: "RE/MAX WILL NICKEL & DIME YOU WITH ADDITIONAL FEES AND CHARGES"

TRUTH: Other companies try to convince agents there are hidden fees at RE/MAX because they can't compete with the significant savings agents enjoy when affiliated with RE/MAX . The RE/MAX structure is one of openness, so that the agent knows what they are paying for, why, and often has a say in how and where funds are spent. Many RE/MAX agents are business-minded as opposed to job-oriented, and run their careers as a business. Because of this, they also have remarkably good ideas for the office as whole, that benefits themselves as well as the rest of the office. Many times these ideas direct where your funds are spent and because of this, fees are not hidden, but open for discussion. It is because RE/MAX Alpine Realty attracts such quality people that the company remains on top.

Myth: "RE/MAX IS A DESK FEE OFFICE ONLY"

TRUTH: RE/MAX has always been a fee office concept. That is the basis on how the company was founded. And it will maintain the fee concept and encourage its agents to structure their business that way, because it is the most cost-effective for the agents. Maximizing your profits is what RE/MAX Alpine Realty is all about. However, for those converting from another company in which they were on a funded program, and are not yet comfortable with the desk fee structure RE/MAX Alpine Realty does offer alternative fee plans that take the immediate pressure of bill payment off the new agent, so they can concentrate on real estate and not on cash flow.

Myth: "RE/MAX OFFERS NO TRAINING. YOU ARE VIRTUALLY ON YOUR OWN"

TRUTH: Probably one of the biggest myths of all. The fact is RE/MAX is the leader in agent training. Providing 20 hours of advanced and comprehensive training every week, right in our own office, on the RE/MAX Satellite Network. Also available on RSN is our Hall of Fame Coaching which airs on the second Tuesday of every month. The coaches that can be seen on RSN are: Howard Brinton, Brian Buffini, Dave Liniger, Connie Podesta and Richard Robbins. Myth: "RE/MAX DOESN'T HAVE THE TOOLS, SERVICES OR SUPPORT OF MY CURRENT COMPANY"

TRUTH: Once again the myth doesn't hold up to scrutiny. RE/MAX is the largest real estate company in the world. Common sense alone would tell you there is no tool or program we don't have or can't get. The fact of the matter is RE/MAX has significantly more tools and programs available to agents than any other real estate company period.
